News: Aaron Jones (hamstring) to return to practice; Williams or Montgomery to start Weeks 1-2

July 31, 2018 |

Smitty’s Take: According to reports, Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is expected to be back at practice by Thursday. With Jones facing a two-game suspension to kickoff the season, Jamaal Williams is setup well to make the starting running back job his job to lose in Green Bay in 2018. Jones’ suspension has his draft value falling pretty good, so he has sleeper appeal emerging, but Williams is the runner to own this year because he gets the early starts. If he delivers, he could keep the job (first- and second-down work) long-term, and he’s a good rusher in a good offense. All this said, the player to own in PPR is Ty Montgomery, as he has upside for huge overall numbers in PPR formats. His ADP is also reasonable in the 9th-round range.
