Week 8 NFL Newswire

October 28, 2018 | 0 Comments

Below is our Week 8 Injury/News Report… this posted will be updated all morning, so keep checking back and refresh the page.

NEWS: Marlon Mack is active for Week 8.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Great news. Get him in lineups.

NEWS: Sam Bradford is inactive for Week 8; Matt Breida will likely play Week 8, but he’s expected to be limited.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Raheem Mostert is a sneaky start this week.

NEWS: Cooper Kupp is inactive for Week 8.
SMITTY’S TAKE: It will likely be the Todd Gurley show all day anyway. However, Goff to Woods and Cooks will surely be a theme as well. Get all Rams in your lineups!

NEWS: Ronald Jones exited Week 8 with a hamstring injury.
SMITTY’S TAKE: The guy cannot catch a break, and neither can anyone invested in the guy. Things could turn around for the very-talented rookie, but until Barber gets benched, or gets re-injured, it’s possible Rojo remains non-existent.

NEWS: Carson Wentz threw for 286 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the Eagles Week 8 win over the Jaguars in London.
SMITTY’S TAKE: The dude is back to being a TD monster. Mahomes, Watson and Wentz are the future of fantasy football. But, there are also 2-3 other passers trying to make a case for being in that mix, and then you have the aging studs like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees, all three of which could hang on longer than many expect. Ranking QBs in dynasty will be a fun topic this coming off-season.

NEWS: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that Marlon Mack (questionable, ankle) “has a good shot” to be a go for Week 8 against the Raiders.
SMITTY’S TAKE: This is a touch risky, but he is trending in the direction of starting. Stay on this, but for now, he appears more likely to play than sit.

NEWS: Allen Robinson (groin) is inactive for Week 8 against the Jets.
SMITTY’S TAKE: This makes Taylor Gabriel a great spot start this week, maybe even a high-end WR3 with more upside than that.

NEWS: Royce Freeman is inactive for Week 8 against the Chiefs.
SMITTY’S TAKE: The Phillip Lindsay show will be playing on Sunday, get your popcorn ready. And, get him in lineups this week!

NEWS: Robby Anderson (ankle) is out for Week 8 against the Bears.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Quincy Enunwa is also out this week, which means that Jermaine Kearse is the top WR for the Jets in this one. Can you say HUGE game for CHI DST?

NEWS: James Washington is inactive for Week 8.
SMITTY’S TAKE: More JuJu in this one and ABrown, nothing new here.

NEWS: ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that LeSean McCoy (questionable, concussion) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Patriots.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Check back with us on this one, but because this is Monday night, it makes him a tricky play.

NEWS: Josh Gordon (hamstring) is questionable for Week 8 against the Bills.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Gordon is fully expected to go in this one. He is a strong WR3/flex play this week.

NEWS: Rob Gronkowski (back, ankle) is questionable for Week 8 against the Bills.
SMITTY’S TAKE: He is expected to be a go. Given the game is Monday night, most will have to roll the dice that he doesn’t suffer a setback in warm-ups.

NEWS: Sony Michel (knee) is doubtful for Week 8 against the Bills.
SMITTY’S TAKE: It will be the James White show in Week 8, at least on the ground. Michel sounds somewhat close to getting back, which is surprising given how bad his knee injury looked last week. He could sit another game, though, but even if back, White is looking fantastic. Tom Brady should be in for a huge Week 8.

NEWS: LeSean McCoy (concussion) remains in the league’s concussion protocol and his Monday night status is very much in question.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Given this is a Monday night game, one could grab Chris Ivory (hamstring) who is expected to play.

NEWS: Matt Breida (ankle) is questionable for Week 8 against the Cardinals.
SMITTY’S TAKE: Raheem Mostert will likely be the workhorse if Breida cannot go. Even if Breida can go, he could split time with Mostert.

ADP Data

ADPAs of 8/18/18PosTeamComment
5.04Tom BradyQBNEWith a 5th-round ADP, there is a lot to like about drafting Tom Brady in 2018. He can easily be a top 12 overall scorer and top 1-5QB. He still has the skill, even if just for 1-2 more seasons, or even 1.5 seasons. I love this value in 2018.
