Mike Evans :: Player Page
Smitty’s Take: The Steelers beat the Bucs on Monday night football in Week 3, as Mike Evans pulled in 6-of-11 targets for 137 yards and one touchdown. James Conner rushed 15 times for 61 yards and added five catches for 34 yards; JuJu Smith-Schuster pulled in 9-of-11 targets for 116 yards; Antonio Brown pulled in 6-of-9 targets for 50 yards and one touchdown, while Ben Roethlisberger completed 30-of-38 passes for 353 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Bucs QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 30-of-50 passes for 411 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions, while DeSean Jackson pulled in 3-of-5 targets for 37 yards, and O.J. Howard caught 6-of-8 targets for 72 yards.
Fantasy Tips: Buy-low on Antonio Brown heading into Week 4. He is surely disappointing owners a bit as of late, which presents a great buying opportunity. The Steelers are coming off a big win and are likely putting some of the locker room frustration to bed. This is great news for Brown owners and we see him going on a tear down the stretch in 2018. James Conner looked strong despite the yardage-only type of night, but we cannot stress enough how important it is for Conner owners to have both Conner and Jaylen Samuels heading into Week 4 and beyond. Conner looks amazing, and he is proving our Bold Prediction true for 2018… but, he has never carried the rock as a starter before, and it’s not crazy to think he gets banged up at some point. And, Samuels is an exciting back that offers more of a Kamara-like style of play, he could be hugely successful, just as Conner has been, if ever called upon to start. As for LeVeon Bell and that situation… the last thing reported on the matter was that a few teams had some interest in trading for the runner, but nothing too serious has unfolded talk-wise, at least yet. It’s only Tuesday, so expect to hear more on Bell and his situation as we roll through the week.
In this episode of The Fantasy Football Show, Smitty goes over WR duos like Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks (and Cooper Kupp), Mike Evans and Chris Godwin… as well as talking about Baker Mayfield and Dalvin Cook.
Who are the Top 10 WRs heading into fantasy football 2019 now that Antonio Brown is in Oakland? Smitty has you covered on this topic, and more, on this episode of The Fantasy Football Show.
