News: JuJu Smith-Schuster to see 100 targets? PIT to have big year?

July 10, 2018 |

Smitty’s Take: Addressing the first part about JuJu Smith-Schuster, this came from a few reports that were linked to an ESPN writer. I think 100 targets is easily doable. I think 70-80 receptions is entirely doable, which would likely equate to about 1,000-1,100 and 6-7TDs. That’s a fantastic season if that happens. I think that JuJu is a great receiver, but it’s tough to expect much more than that kind of season-long stat line with so many mouths to feed in Pittsburgh (and James Washington is another solid receiver that will command some targets). I think LeVeon Bell pulls in 70-80 passes for 600 yards and 2-3TDs in 2018 (and mix in 1,200 rushing yards and 7-10TDs), and I envision a healthy Antonio Brown pulling in at least 100/1300+/10-12TDs… that all spells a huge season for Ben Roethlisberger, if healthy… something along the lines of 3900-4100 passing yards and 30TDs sounds about right for the passer. This offense will likely produce some of the biggest fantasy numbers from week to week, and I think a Super Bowl appearance is in no way out of the question in 2018.
