SMITTY’S TAKE: In Week 8 against the Dolphins, Deshaun Watson completed 16-of-20 passes for 239 yards and five touchdowns. DeAndre Hopkins caught 6-of-7 targets for 82 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The bad news is that Will Fuller tore his ACL on an impressive touchdown grab, so he is done for the season. This leaves both Keke Coutee and Sammie Coates with big fantasy bumps, or at least opportunities. Coutee is the more sure bet to have fantasy relevance, but Coates might have something to say about that, and Coutee is still trying to get fully healthy. Watson and Hopkins are absolute studs, Hopkins top 1-3 moving forward for wide receivers, Watson 1-4 moving forward for QBs. Last night was an example of why you can’t bench your studs, as it appears many in fantasy football likely benched Watson (as he was in a funk and hurt). His 5TD outing isn’t a fluke, he had big TD outings last year as a rookie. He is that kind of scorer… he can score 2-3TDs one game and have those 4-5TD performances a couple times per season.
