Smitty’s Take: According to reports, Cowboys third-round rookie WR Michael Gallup has had some first-team work in training camp. He’s an exciting rookie that will surely get tons of targets by default, but he’s also a receiver we liked a lot assuming he found a good landing spot. One could call this landing spot questionable (due to lack of targets), others might call it good. I think Allen Hurns is the receiver to own here, and he only costs a 9th-round pick right now, which is on the verge of madness (of the ‘steal’ variety). Gallup has some sneaky-good dynasty appeal, but when he has a redraft ADP in the 12th, and Hurns is going in the 9th, this is a no-brainer in favor of Hurns. Dak Prescott, who also has steal-worthy ADP value in the 9th-round, has big upside this year, but much of that comes from the fact that he throws and runs a ton (with rushing TD upside). So, Dak has a top 10QB ceiling in fantasy, he just delivers a heavy portion of his points on the ground, and the targets just might not be there for Gallup – for this year. This season will belong to Ezekiel Elliott, who is kind of becoming my favorite risky-geared 1.01 in 2018. I often rank him near the 1.03, but I honestly struggle passing on him at 1.01 in every single mock that I do… Zeke might push the 2,000-yard rushing limits in 2018, and he could add something nuts in the total touchdown department (something above 14-15 rushing scores).
