Smitty’s Take: Lions RB Kerryon Johnson finished his week 1 debut with seven carries for 34 yards, while adding four catches for 33 yards. It was a solid effort against the Raiders. Johnson began the night behind LeGarrette Blount, but was getting most of the touches in the second half. He had a huge 57-yard rumble, but it was called back for holding. Had that run stood, you might be reading a ton more hype-based reports about Johnson heading into the second week of the preseason. Johnson appears to have the most upside out of all DET backs, but it wouldn’t be shocking for this to take a turn in a different direction, as Blount could command more touches as the preseason moves along. Time will tell. And, Ameer Abdullah added 4-16-1 on the night.
