Smitty’s Take According to a few reports today, Bengals RB Joe Mixon has slimmed down to 218 pounds. It sounds like he’s in better shape this season, which is a good thing. However, Mixon’s ADP has climbed into the bottom of the second-round in some cases, and that’s loaded with risk. I think he had a lot less risk in the middle-to-late third-round, but 2.11-3.01? That’s quite high for a player that didn’t have a super-promising rookie season. He had only 4TDs and 3.5 YPC last year, and while he did play better down the stretch versus during the first-half of the season, there are far too many safer options in the 23-25 overall player range entering 2018. If you can get this kind of dynasty value via trade, I say trade the guy, as you can trade into a safer option, and option that should play as well as Mixon even if he does have a big 2018. Note: Gio Bernard and Mark Walton will serve as back-ups for the Bengals in 2018.
