Smitty’s Take: According to a few reports today, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is calling Dalvin Cook (ACL) ready right now for the 2018 NFL season. Expect the Vikings to be cautious with Cook during the entire preseason. He could get some run here and there, but we highly-doubt he gets used a ton during any part of the preseason. Cook has the makings of an elite fantasy RB1, and I’m talking of the 5-10 variety. On his four weeks played, Cook was on pace for 1,416 rushing yards, 8 rushing TDs, 44 receptions and 360 receiving yards. I think 1,400 yards rushing is a high expectation, but doable, but where I think Cook finishes is something along the lines of 1200-1300 rushing yards, 60-70 receptions, 500-600 receiving yards and near, or slightly above, 10 total scores. That’s elite. Hopefully he suffers no setbacks with the knee, and currently, it sounds like he’s in smooth sailing mode.
