News: Anthony Miller, Antonio Callaway & Deon Cain all impressive?

Smitty’s Take: As we already reported earlier today, Antonio Brown was said to be ultra-impressive during training camp today, burning DBs. While that was taking place, Bears’ rookie wide receiver Anthony Miller was adding to his buzz on making a strong case to earn the team’s slot wide receiver spot. He was getting rave reviews in minicamp not too long ago, too. And, Colts rookie wide receiver Deon Cain has been impressing a lot as of late, and recent reports peg him for some good usage early on in Indy this year. I like all three of these wide receivers heading into 2018 and beyond, but Miller is the guy we have pegged for elite status. I think, if used properly, Miller can be amazing and a true fantasy WR1. I think Callaway has that kind of appeal, honestly he does, but he also has Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon ahead of him, so unless one gets hurt, or Gordon ends up not playing early on in 2018, Callaway will struggle to emerge with solid 2018 targets. One injury, or one long absence by Gordon, could have Callaway climbing into sneaky-good WR3 status in 2018 (with upside for a whole lot more in 2019 and beyond). Cain is not going to cost you near as much, in dynasty or redraft (he’s just about undrafted right now in current yearly-league mocks), so the risk is clearly lower. But, his upside is still pretty awesome, it’s at least sneaky-good. This wide receiver class has some upside, more than most ever suggested coming out of the 2018 NFL Draft. Get some!
