Smitty’s Take: The Redskins have signed RB Adrian Peterson to a one-year contract. Last year, AP was with the Cardinals, and he did have two big 100-yard rushing games. While I don’t envision him having a monster year or anything, I think at 33 he can still have some good numbers if ever starting games. Chris Thompson and Samaje Perine and Rob Kelley are all fighting for carries in Washington since Derrius Guice’s ACL tear… the talent level isn’t crazy-good in Washington, it is a crowded backfield. Thompson is the PPR guy to own in this backfield, although I’d say his value is borderline flex-worthy. AP and Kelley will fight for early down work, and that makes AP someone to consider at the end of your RB bench. I know, he’s 33, but look at Frank Gore at 35 (and he played ok at 34 last year). AP can’t start 16 games on a starter’s workload, he’d get hurt. But, despite a horrible YPC in AZ last year, AP looked strong during his two 100-yard outings. In some spots, he could score points.
