Julio Jones Traded!!

WTCMWTCM Posts: 13,750
Julio Jones has been traded to the Tennessee Titans for a 2nd and 5th round pick. Needless to say that's dirt cheap for a potential future HOF WR in his final prime years.

In the real world of football, it’s an excellent move for TEN to pair Julio with AJ Brown…. Though I don’t really see Tannehill being able to get the ball his way like Ryan did given his deep ball accuracy.

For fantasy purposes, I don’t like the landing spot.

Well I own AJ Brown in one league, Pitts in another league, and Hurst in BOTH leagues. I can see this possibly helping Hurst. Definitely good for Pitts. Should not hurt Brown TOO bad. Brown should not draw many dounle teams

Correction Titans trade away their 2023 2nd and 4th pick in return for Jones and a 2023 6th round pick

Might want to do another correction. Falcons recieve 2022 2nd round pick and a 2023 4th round pick for Julio Jones and a 2023 6th round
Winning Fantasy Football Championships is easier without pants on.

Don't see it mentioned but it's important when evaluating the trade. Titans pick Julio's full salary. Didn't think a team would eat the whole thing but thats the reason they didn't give up more.
  • CoolHandCoolHand Posts: 8,881
Yeah, and ATL has 7.5 million of dead money from it. (I think that’s what it said)
  • farfromhomefarfromhome Posts: 2,071
On a fantasy note, in regards to Julio, I see sites trying to spin it positively. Bottom line is he went from a team 4th last year in passing attempts to a team that was 30th. Don't see how I could spin this in a good way...maybe tds go up? Maybe

This trade helps ever player statistically other that than Jones. Many say it hurts Brown, i see AJ never being doubled as long as he's on the field. Pitts value soars. Very difficult to put 8 in the box against Henry now.

Probably a lot fewer 8 many boxes for D. Henry.

I think Ridley becomes top 5 wr....even though he put up top 5 numbers last year he wasn't being viewed as one ...bet his ADP goes up a few notches....

What does this mean for Josh Reynolds and Dez Fitzpatrick? I had hoped one might breakout, and Josh was already getting some hype. I think this kills them both. With AJ, JJ, Pitts, and Henry too many mouths to feed, right?

    Don't think you meant Pitts.

Interestingly NBC Sports Edge (formerly Rotoworld) has an odd depth chart

    WR1
    Julio Jones
    A.J. Brown

    WR2
    Josh Reynolds

    WR3
    Dez Fitzpatrick

I’m for one am really curious if Stafford a QB that can throw, is the key to opening this offense up! And turning this into a throw first then run
