Moreover what does it do to Royce’s value? Can Theo still catch approx the same # of catches with his role in this offense?

    well this is interesting.
Have to see if Theo makes it onto the final roster if he does than there is a SUPER HIGH chance that he will get the first nod for 3rd down passing down work. Have to see how this plays out.

His signing hurts Booker more than anyone else IMO.

Riddick was signed to take over Booker’s snaps on some 3rd down situations. But with his pass blocking ability/receiving he could get more snaps. This move doesn’t hurt Lindsay. Everyone in Denver knows Lindsay is the guy.

    Johnathan Cyprien DB, Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles signed S Johnathan Cyprien to a one-year contract.

29-year-old Cyprien tore his ACL and missed all of last season. Known more as a box safety against the run, Cyprien's cover skills are a bit lacking. Andrew Sendejo hasn't been impressing in Eagles camp by some accounts, so perhaps it'll be either Cyprien or Sendejo that makes the final 53-man roster.

Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue had to report to Jaguars training camp by Tuesday in order to be credited with an accrued season in 2019 and he beat the clock by a couple of days.

The Jaguars announced on Sunday morning that Ngakoue has reported to the team facility, which brings his holdout to an end in time for Ngakoue to get credit for the season he needs to be on track for unrestricted free agency at the end of the season.

Ngakoue’s path to free agency could be blocked by a franchise tag, although he’d surely prefer landing a long-term deal that would bump his salary to the level that the likes of Frank Clark, Dee Ford and DeMarcus Lawrence reached this offseason. All were tagged to open the offseason and Clark and Ford were traded before landing their deals, so there’s a lot to still play out for Ngakoue.

Ngakoue was a 2016 third-round pick and has recorded 29.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles through his first three seasons.

Tom Brady‘s next contract will tie him to the Patriots for the next three seasons, and give him an immediate pay raise.

The deal Brady and the Patriots have agreed on runs through 2021 and includes an $8 million raise this year, according to multiple reports.

Under his old deal, Brady was slated to make a $14 million base salary and another $1 million in per-game roster bonuses this season. The new deal pays him $23 million this year.

There’s no word on the full details of the contract and how much he’ll make in 2020 and 2021. Given that Brady is now 42 years old, it’s debatable whether he’ll even reach the 2021 season, when he’ll be 44. But Brady has said he sees himself playing until he’s 45, so perhaps he could not only play out this contract, but even sign another one after that.

Why would you put more importance signing Amari Cooper over EElliott? Boggles the mind. Zeke does have 2 years $12+ mill on his contract. But seems underpaid for what he brings to the Cowboys.

    Josh McCown QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles signed QB Josh McCown to a one-year, $2 million contract.

McCown retired this summer, but he's leaving his ESPN job to back up Carson Wentz. It's a solid get for the Eagles with Nate Sudfeld (wrist) and Cody Kessler (concussion) sidelined. Wentz's injury history makes this an interesting landing spot for McCown — one of the league's better No. 2 quarterbacks. McCown plans to return to broadcasting after playing out his one-year deal in Philly.

Jason Licht G, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bucs signed GM Jason Licht to a three-year extension.

It includes an option for 2023. This lines Licht up with coach Bruce Arians' contract. Licht has had some questionable drafts, but the Bucs have never lacked for talent under him. The new deal gives Licht's some security in a walk year. Licht's Tampa future is ultimately tied to Jameis Winston's success.

Feels like he’s been around forever... how many more teams does he need until he’s been a backup for every team? 😉

    Jaylon Smith LB, Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys signed LB Jaylon Smith to a contract extension.

The terms are not yet disclosed. Smith was headed for restricted free agency after the season. At one point in danger of being an injury washout, 24-year-old Smith turned into an every-down player last year, stuffing the stat sheet with four sacks, four deflections, two forced fumbles and 121 tackles. He earned high marks from Pro Football Focus in the process. He is an integral part of what has turned into an above-average defense. The Cowboys still have to extend Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper.

Not disclosed....most likely signed a friendly deal to contribute to the straw that stirs the drink signing.

De'Anthony Thomas WR, Kansas City Chiefs
    Chiefs re-signed KR De'Anthony Thomas.

Thomas' 2018 was cut short by a broken leg. He's healthy now and will be a legitimate candidate for the Chiefs' 53-man roster. Coach Andy Reid has always appreciated Thomas' return ability while sprinkling him in on offense.

    Damon Harrison DL, Detroit Lions
Lions signed DT Damon Harrison to a one-year, $11 million extension.

He'll make $12 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. Harrison skipped OTAs in search of a new contract. He also missed most of training camp on the active/NFI list, but the Lions are obviously comfortable with his health. Harrison rebounded in the second half of last year after getting traded to Detroit and will return as the anchor of the defensive line. He's now signed through 2021.

    Myles Jack LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars signed LB Myles Jack to a four-year, $57 million extension through 2023.

The deal contains $33 million guaranteed. With Telvin Smith taking a leave from the team this season with his retirement, Jack is the foundation piece on the second line of defense for the Jaguars. Jack is an every-down player and only turns 24 in a couple days. He's very much still entering the prime of his career. He's now signed through his age-28 season.

Nice signing for Monty, Trubisky and company...

    Cody Whitehair C, Chicago Bears
Bears signed LG Cody Whitehair to a five-year, $52.5 million contract extension.

The deal comes with $27.5 million in guarantees. It's a well-deserved raise for Whitehair, who garnered PFF's No. 8 grade among qualified centers in 2018. This year however, Whitehair, will cede center duties to James Daniels while taking over as the starting left guard. Chicago's line did a solid job keeping Mitchell Trubisky out of harm's way last year, allowing the league's eighth-fewest sacks (33).

    Joe Haden DB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Steelers signed CB Joe Haden to a two-year, $22 million extension through the 2021 season.

The deal includes a hefty $16.8 million signing bonus. Haden is no longer an elite corner, but he's still a serviceable CB1 and deserved a new contract. The Steelers now control Haden through his age-33 season, which somewhat lines up with their Super Bowl window with Big Ben aging.

Jaylen Watkins DB, Los Angeles Chargers
    Chargers re-signed DB Jaylen Watkins.

Watkins is a depth option for the Chargers as they look to replace stud safety Derwin James, who just went to the injured reserve. Watkins didn't play in 2018 due to an ACL, so anything he contributes this year should be considered a bonus.
