Not only did I have half Bears, but the emotional toll that ending took on me has me probably not watching anymore football this season!

Right? I'm not sure if I should vomit or punch a hole in the wall. Fuck Parkey, fire him now.
Damn, that entire Bears offense put up a solid 6 pts but it's Parkleys fault? Dude scored more points than anyone else on the team.

    Also, it was blocked
First, I didn't know that when I posted. Second, he's been shit all year. Hit what, six uprights? Missed a TON of extra points. He's been a liability all year. Of course it wasn't JUST on him. And yes, it IS partly his fault, as he kicked it too LOW, heard guys on the radio here in Chicago talking about it. He has to get that UP.
End of the day Da Bears got outplayed and out coached. Parkey career long is only 50 yards and that was 43... Not exactly a gimmie so can't blame the kid for trying to make sure it got over. Hester made a good play. I put more blame on the offense. Other team only scores 16 points then you should win. Trubisky struggled for much of the game and led the Bears to just one touchdown. The Bears defense had a chance to end it, but gave up a 12 play, 60-yard touchdown drive in the final minutes.
I just feel bad for a player who had his kick partially blocked and is now getting threats and ton of hate from fans as a consequence. Parkey is only human and he tried his best... Football is just a game. Chicago knew what they had in him and could have cut him.. NFL Kickers don't grow on trees though.
Agree with this. It’s amazing how people forget it’s just a game and they have to go the ‘extra’ and make threats.... that’s totally ridiculous of those people!

The fans should blame not the kicker but their Defense that couldn’t hold a lead. Oh yeah forgot about that, a defense that didn’t get to the QB or intimate him all game long! How soon we forget about a defense that was talked about all season long being the best in the league that didn’t show up when it counted!

  • He has been terrible all year.

Parkey: #27th FG, 76%. #24th XP 94%. He cost us games. Career long of 50? Not a very good kicker. There is plenty of blame to go around. Death threats are ridiculous, I agree with you there. But he should be fired.

    1. Bears kickers, Parkey included, haven’t been accurate. During the last three regular seasons, they’re 57 for 75 (76 percent). Only the Buccaneers (72.8 percent) have been worse.

    2. Opposing kickers have been nearly automatic. Since the start of the 2016 season, opponents have made 93.6 percent of their field goals vs. the Bears. That’s stunning.

    3. Gould has been better than he ever was with the Bears since departing. In 42 games since (32 the last two seasons in San Francisco and 10 with the Giants in 2016), he’s 82 for 85 (96.5 percent).

Maybe it’s something with the field? Or the coaching? Just saying... Like you mentioned, look at what Gould did after signing with another team. 😉

As pissed and frustrated as I was after the game, you're right, I'm already pretty much over it (though still pretty disappointed). However that 28-3 thing definitely sucks much more! Ugh!

I have always sucked on these playoff challenges and decided that I just want to WATCH the playoffs. However the dispute between Spectrum (my cable company) and Tribune (Fox) made that difficult last week.
