2021 Class. Who are you watching?

wickerkat1212wickerkat1212 Posts: 2,640
As our seasons have wrapped up already, why not chat about 2021?

Who are the players you are watching, most excited about, sleepers, etc.?

• Obviously it's Trevor Lawrence at QB, but Fields—what an arm. Beyond them?
• All I'm hearing is Etienne and Najee, but who else do you like?
• Chase and Smith are the top two at WR and look elite, but who else do you like?
• Pitts seems to be the only TE with an elite ranking, anyone else out there?

Who are you trying to get? Who outside the top guys at each position do you like?

So far for me, with little research, I've found:

OSU RB Sermon to be an interesting back.
LSU WR Marshall to be a 6'3" lighter echo of Chase/Jefferson.
Talk about USC WR Amon-Ra to be interesting.
Waddle to be an injured WR from ALA that may be under the radar for now, Tyreek comp?

THOUGHTS?

I am watching the same guys as you mentioned for QB/TE. As for QB also keeping an eye on Trask and Lance.
As for RB keeping an eye on the 3 you mentioned as well as Hill, Hubbard,Williams,Jefferson,Gainwell & Mitchell
As for WRs keeping an eye on Waddle, Moore, Bateman, Ross, Wallace, Marshall & Surratt. I like the wr class again this year.

  • I like Adams' highlight reel, I may have to keep an eye on him. I don't pay too much attention to college football but with the limited research I've done, the only 2 that I know I love are Etienne and Harris who seem to be the top 2 in a tier of their own.

QB Zack Wilson and Trey Lance. I've been watching and reading up on them a good bit. As a Falcons fan I'm intrigued with the possibility that if Atlanta ends up drafting #3 or #4 overall that the new staff they bringing in will want to get their QB of the future and have him learn from Matt Ryan. These two QBs need some seasoning but they can make the throws. Little bit of Mahomes like with different releases of the ball.

I'd be happy with Fields, Wilson or Lance.

Mac Jones. Product of the system, or legitimate prospect? He doesn't seem to get the benefit of the doubt that was afforded to Tagovailoa. Put up crazy numbers.

Chris Olave is projected rounds 1-2, yet his name isn't as popular as Devonta Smith, JaMarr Chase, etc. Guy just makes plays.

I need to dig deeper at RB. Right now it's Harris, Etienne, and ????. Obviously someone else will emerge, but who?
    10-team, non-PPR, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE.
2021 keepers: QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Christian McCaffrey, RB Dalvin Cook, RB Ezekiel Elliott, WR AJ Brown, WR Courtland Sutton, WR Diontae Johnson, WR Laviska Shenault, WR Henry Ruggs

Who will be this year's James Robinson? Stud RB (#1 for rookie RB points in my leagues) but went undrafted in all of my dynasties. Or Chase Claypool? Went in the late 2nd or early 3rd in my leagues, and currently has the third most points for a rookie WR in my leagues (1 PPR dynasties). Antonio Gibson was the 7th RB taken in one league rookie draft, 9th in another, and is currently the 2nd best rookie RB based on points in my leagues.

Nice. In one league I'll probably take WR in every round, so I'll be keeping my eyes open. Going Lamb/Claypool or Jeudy/Claypool or Jefferson/Claypool would have been very nice.

His elusiveness, quick feet, and agility are perfection. As long as he makes a roster he will be on all my teams. I believe in what I see.
    my top five pass catchers

Ja'Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Jaelon Darden, Tamorrion Terry and Kyle Pitts

This class might be better than 2020 class.

Love it. Chase of course is on my radar, but he'll go before I pick. Pitts is also a guy I like as I need a TE in a few leagues and pick later. Waddle is a target as well. So I'll have to look at your guys.

Way too early but any sense of where these guys might go or where you should take them?

    Chase in the top five.
    Pitts in the top 12?
    Waddle in the early 2nd?
    Darden in the 2nd/3rd?
    Terry in the 3rd/4th?

    Am I even close?

I'm hoping Pitts falls to #8 as I dont need a WR and having the option of Hockenson or Pitts might be nice in a couple years once Pitts develops. If he isn't available at 1.08 I'll just take best player available between RB & QB. My backups to Mahomes is Hurts & Tua.

BPA always works out in the end. After the draft, and combine, new potential studs will emerge. You can always flip whomever you pick or a current WR or RB for Pitts afterwords. TEs usually take some time developing, much longer than WRs.

Always is a bold statement and not true. Plenty of bust have happend. No rookie is a sure thing and I have a long list of WRs on my team already in Hopkins, Jefferson, Lamb, DJ Moore, Tee Higgins, Juju, Jeudy and I can only start 3 of them. I'd rather take my chances at 1.08 with BPA at a position other then WR if Pitts isnt available.

My thoughts too. I took Jeudy/Jefferson in Dynasty #4, so Pitts at #8 would be nice, as my TEs aren't great.

  • after watching the championship game , I'm convinced fields has a major flaw ( he looks only in the direction where his play target is at , I'm yelling at the tv for him to pivot his head and he never did )
