As Week 9 of the 2018 fantasy football season approaches, the list of great pick-ups is getting smaller. Although, a few names on this list have some significant upside.
Note: Make sure Marquise Goodwin and Marlon Mack are not available, we assume that they are not, but a few Ask Smitty Emails this week have had these names included as potential pick-ups, so if your league has super-small rosters, Mack could somehow still be available.
Week 9 Adds
Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB/QB)
The guy is a top 5-10 fantasy QB when on the field. Why the Bucs benched him to begin with was insane. Even if he had a slow game or two, his string of ‘elite’ games to start the season earned him a longer leash than he received. He’s back, and the scoring is back as well. Also, keep in mind that DeSean Jackson plays a ton better with Fitz in the line-up, so it’s time to get DJax back into line-ups.
* Edit * Courtland Sutton (DEN/QB)
The Broncos have traded away Demaryius Thomas to the Texans, and while Sutton has already been on our grab list for weeks now, check waivers in your league in case he’s still available. He could be a WR3 moving forward, and he will likely show flashes of brilliance down the stretch in 2018. He has WR1 value for the future, folks.
DeSean Jackson (TB/WR)
The guy was cut in a big number of leagues weeks ago. If available, know that Fitzpatrick locks onto him… DJax is a strong WR3/flex the rest of the way if Fitz is under center.
Tyrell Williams (LAC/WR)
He has been on our add list for weeks, but somehow he is still available in a big percentage of leagues. He’s a trusted target in that Chargers’ passing game and he’s a fine WR3/flex the rest of the way.
Devante Parker (MIA/WR)
He looked smooth in Week 8, but he is always hurt. He’s a must-grab for sure, but curb expectations for the long-term this year. He could be WR3/4 worthy until proven otherwise.
Ito Smith (ATL/RB)
Dropped in a grip of leagues, he still has nice appeal and could get more touches than many expect later on in the year. This is the sleeper grab and hold of this list.
Keke Coutee (HOU/WR)
He’s banged up, so he’s hard to trust, but he is a must-add with Will Fuller (ACL) out for the season.
Michael Gallup (DAL/WR)
Don’t forget about him, as he had a bye this past week. He could be the WR1 in Dallas moving forward, and Amari Cooper should actually help him see big play strikes down the field.
