  2. Josh Gordon | WR Browns

Adrian Peterson traded to the Cardinals.

NEWS: Adrian Peterson has been traded to the Cardinals.

NEWS: This is great news all around. For starters, Peterson has not been used at all in New Orleans, and as I wrote all off-season, I think the guy still has it. At least for one more season I think he has what it takes to thrive. Now, could AZ misuse Peterson? Sure, it’s possible, and they have some huge offensive line issues right now. That said, the Cards made a trade for AP, which means they wanted him on the roster pretty bad. I think they end up using him more than most think… If they do, I think Peterson can crank out RB2-type numbers. Let’s curb expectations a bit and leave those expectations in the vicinity of RB2s, as changing teams mid-season could take some adjusting. But, this is a great start (for change) for those of us hoping AP can rumble like a stud for at least a handful of games down the stretch in 2017. Grab him if available in your league — grips of fantasy owners all around actually cut bait last week and the week before, so he is a free agent in many leagues!

Josh Gordon could apply for reinstatement soon and is a must-add in 2017?

NEWS: Josh Gordon recently did a 13-minute documentary on Uninterrupted, where he discussed his history of drug use, his suspensions, his relationship with Roger Goodell, and his future in football.

NEWS: If you watch the video, for the first time it looks like Gordon is taking responsibility for his actions. He looks and sounds humble. He sounds believable. Folks, I’m not sure what the NFL will do in regards to his upcoming reinstatement attempt, which is likely very soon, as he is training hard in the video… he could be denied reinstatement this season. Goodell and the NFL could say ‘Come back next year, Josh!” It’s tough to say. But, this kid is capable of being a world class olympic sprinter right here and right now. He’s that talented. He has the ability to be a top 5WR in the NFL right away, he has that much natural skill. This is all based on skill, though. Skill is only half the battle, which means the other half is unknown. It’s guess work. In dynasty, I say grab him without a single hesitation, though, and he shouldn’t be available in most dynasty leagues, as many still have been holding out hope for 2018. But, all hope is not lost for 2017 and we may know very soon if Gordon can play games here in 2017. Grab him in all leagues, folks, this is a world class talent in the physical department, he’s worth the risk in larger leagues (no question about it).

Who has Gordon or AP already?

    • Jim Dumont on October 10, 2017 at 8:16 pm

I got ap been sitting on my bench collecting dust

      • Smitty on October 10, 2017 at 9:37 pm

Well, dust him off, bro! He’s ready to rumble!

  2. Mark Stewart on October 10, 2017 at 9:43 pm

I have both in a 12 team league. Hopefully Gordon gets reinstated soon, but I’ve read somewhere that he failed a test before he went into rehab (Not sure if that was last years pre-season or after) And he might get another 4 game suspension if he is able to get back into the league. Do you think that is a likely outcome? I held onto AP hoping he’d get traded.

    • Smitty on October 11, 2017 at 6:55 pm

Yeah, it’s kinda unclear about maybe facing another suspension. Honestly, there isn’t anything concrete floating around, nothing you can take as fact other than Gordon himself ‘claims’ to be clean, ready and working hard. We shall see.

      AP… let’s hope AZ let’s him rumble!

Smitty ….non ppr you move A Jones for AP

    • Smitty on October 12, 2017 at 5:26 pm

I think I like Aaron Jones a touch more, but it’s tough. AP is that swing for the fences with a chance for striking out. Jones has slightly less upside, but is maybe a touch safer?

I suppose that means you would drop AP if M Mack was available?

        • Smitty on October 17, 2017 at 12:33 am

No, AP is a beast. He had some risk heading into Sunday, but no longer. He looks beast like. I still like Mack, even after tonight’s poor outing (not his fault, he wasn’t used).
