NEWS: According to reports, Ezekiel Elliott (calf) is trending toward playing Week 16 against the Eagles.
FANTASY TAKE: This is a shame for those that scooped up Tony Pollard on our direction, something we pushed all off-season long. Pollard held win-a-league value (in waiting) all year, and he absolutely delivered for fantasy owners in Week 15 (69/2TDs//6/63/0TDs). While there is a chance things take a turn for Zeke heading into Week 16, it looks like Pollard was a one-week pony. Dallas could keep Pollard involved even with Elliott back in the Week 16 line-up, so I suppose you could toss Pollard into a flex spot and feel pretty decent about it.
Let’s talk 2021 and Dynasty: I still love Ezekiel Elliott walking into 2021 and beyond. I think this disappointing 2020 season, especially if Zeke is mediocre in these final two weeks (and especially if he sits one of the weeks), will nudge his ADP into steal territory (think 1.07-1.10). However, I do predict that, like with Saquon Barkley and his current ACL-related doubters, Elliott’s ADP will climb back into a normal zone (somewhere near 1.04-1.06) by late August and early September. That’s why early drafting is a plus. I think Pollard is a must-own for all 2021 and dynasty Zeke owners, and the duo (as one) is one of the safer RB1 options for 2021 (assuming Dallas brings back Dak).
