NEWS: Week 5 Sunday News Report (updated all day)
( note: this post will be updated throughout the entire day, so check back for news updates/additions )
Joe Mixon (knee) is active for Week 5 against Miami; Bernard out
Smitty’s Take: Most expect Mixon to get bulk of carries and touches in this one, but no one knows how healthy he is. Mark Walton could see some work, but if you have Mixon, you most certainly have to start him.
Evan Engram inactive for Week 5 against the Panthers
Davante Adams to play Week 5; Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb both inactive for Week 5 against the Lions
DeVante Parker (quad) is inactive for Week 5 against the Bengals
Hayden Hurst (foot) is a go for Sunday’s Week 5 game against the Browns
Lamar Miller not likely to play Week 5; Watson on track for another 300-yard game?
Smitty’s Take: This means that Alfred Blue is going to get the bulk of carries in Week 5. Keep an eye on D’Onta Foreman, who could return near Week 7. Miller is struggling bad, and now hurt, so the door will be opened, or at least cracked, for Foreman, who is working his way back from an Achilles injury. Back to Week 5, we are likely going to see Deshaun Watson again pass for 300+ yards.
Marvin Jones on tract to play Week 5
Smitty’s Take: We expect him to go, but monitor this newswire until kickoff, just in case he suffers a setback in warm-ups. Jones has a good track record against the Packers, so he’s a great play this week.
Davante Adams to play Week 5
Smitty’s Take: He is questionable with a calf injury, but he is expected to play. Keep checking back to be safe, but he is looking like a go.
Dalvin Cook not expected to play Week 5
Smitty’s Take: He is not likely to play Week 5 due to the hamstring. This setback is surely to disappoint already-upset fantasy owners, so buy low on the guy in a last-second deal if you can, before his team’s kickoff.
