Smitty’s Take: The Giants are fully expected to spoon-feed stud WR Odell Beckham early and often in Week 3. After a disappointing Week 2 outing, where Odell pulled in just 4 passes for 51 yards, head coach Pat Shurmur made it clear that the team will make some adjustments in Week 3.
“I think we need to get the ball in the hands of the playmakers the right way,” head coach Pat Shurmur said earlier this week. “The first game, Odell touched it a bunch (15 targets, plus a rushing attempt). Last game, Saquon (Barkley) touched it 25 times. Really, it doesn’t matter if we’re running it or throwing it to him, he touched the ball 25 times. We’ve got to do a better job in all areas so there’s a little bit more space, I get that, but it’s certainly important to get the ball to your playmakers and we will continue to do that the best we can.”
We have Odell Beckham pegged for a monster game in Week 3 against the Texans. His 100+ yards in Week 1 was par for the course, but the fantasy forecast in Week 3 is calling for a much bigger shower of fantasy points. This could be one of those 100-yard, 1-2TD outings. Buying low on Beckham might end after Week 3.
