Smitty’s Take: According to Tribune-Review, Le’Veon Bell is likely to hold out of training camp if he doesn’t get a new deal before the July 16 deadline. Bell has yet to sign his $14.5 million tender. Holding out until close to Week 1 is never great news, as it can sometimes lead to injury for runners. That said, we won’t be adjusting our rankings in any format due to any of this. In the end, he will be on the field for Week 1 and he is a top 1-4 overall pick in any format/league. Jaylen Samuels and James Connner will compete for the back-up role in PIT in 2018. Both have big upside, and if your rosters are big enough, holding both back-ups is the safest approach. Conner has a bit more experience, but Samuels is the more dynamic of the two, and kind of a deep, deep sleeper in dynasty.
