fantasy football news

NEWS: Lamar Jackson suffered a concussion in yesterday’s playoff loss to the Bills. Lamar finished with 162 passing, 0TDs, 1INT and 34 rushing yards; Hollywood Brown pulled in 4/87/0TDs, Mark Andrews totaled just 4 receptions for 28 yards; both JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards had 10 carries for 42 yards (Dobbins added 3/51/0TDs through the air)… Josh Allen threw for 206 yards and 1TD; Stefon Diggs posted 8/106/1TD; John Brown had 8/62/0TDs; Cole Beasley was held without a catch.

FANTASY TAKE: If you play fantasy football, only Diggs tore it up in this game. Lamar did not have a good game before suffering the concussion. Expect Allen to have a much better stat line in the next one.

Let’s Talk Dynasty: Josh Allen is my clear-cut fantasy QB2 in 2021. I have zero hesitations at this point. And, Diggs is cemented into near first-round value, and anyone taking him in the 10-12 range is not off their rocker. It’s debatable without question. As for Lamar, his running opens the door to injury, something I worried about during the off-season. I still admittedly ranked Lamar high, and at the right price, I’d draft him again in 2021 fantasy football drafts. However, his dynasty value is concerning, as his running is his main asset, and if he tones that down, he won’t be productive… we witnessed this during the early part of the 2020 season. And, the catch 22… if he runs, he is way, way more susceptible to injury. That’s plain fact when you run 150+ times per year as a QB. I do like Mark Andrews in 2021 and beyond if the price is right, but right has to be 5th-round or later. He has had no signs of life this year, so there is risk if you draft him and have high expectations… but just draft him late. JK Dobbins is setup to be a high-risk/high-reward 3rd- or 4th-round pick in early 2021 fantasy football drafts.
