NEWS: The Chiefs and Bucs advanced through Sunday’s Conference Championship battles against the Bills and Packers; The Chiefs face the Bucs in the 2020-2021 NFL Super Bowl.
FANTASY TAKE: Patrick Mahomes threw for 325 yards and 3TDs in the outing; Tyreek Hill pulled in 9/172/0TDs; Travis Kelce racked-up 13/118/2TDs; Mecole Hardman pulled in the other TD, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran for 1TD and 7 yards and Darrell Williams ran for 52 yards and 1TD. On the other side of the ball, Josh Allen threw for 287 yards, 2TDs, 1INT and ran for 88 yards.
In the Bucs-Packers game, Tom Brady threw for 280 yards, 3TDs and 3INTs; Leonard Fournette ran for 55 yards and 1TD; Chris Godwin racked-up 110 yards on 5 receptions, while both Mike Evans (3/51/1TD) and Scott Miller (2/36/1TD) scored. Aaron Rodgers threw for 346/3TDs/1INT; Aaron Jones ran for just 27 yards; Marquez Valdes-Scantling pulled in 4/115/1TD; Davante Adams totaled 9/67/1TD; Robert Tonyan posted 4/22/1TD.
Let’s Talk Dynasty: While the disappointing finish for the Pack won’t hurt the value of Davante Adams, the rumors of A-Rod maybe not being in GB in 2021 is making some question Adams’ long-term value. I honestly think that this should be taken advantage of where you see it. Aaron Jones is a player I may stay clear of until we find out his landing spot, as his landing spot would have to be ideal for him to retain anything close to his current top 15 overall value. We have done a ton of mock drafts on Smitty1.com (my youtube channel), and AJones has gone quite high in many of the mocks. He is talented, no question, and in the right situation I would be on board. But, he has a long history of not staying healthy, and he has been TD dependent for quite some time now. That’s a tough sell at top 15 overall value if you ask me. As for all the Chief players, nothing changes with their values in 2021… Mahomes is deserving of 18-30 overall consideration (depending on your league’s QB climate), Hill is deserving of top 7-12 overall value, and quite honestly, Kelce has top 7-12 overall value as well (although, drafting him there is a different story, as it’s tough to build a well-balanced team going TE that early even though it makes sense on paper). Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs are the players to attack in dynasty right now, as a disappointing finish is sure to at least NOT vault their values up any higher than their values already climbed up to. I love Allen as the clear-cut QB2 in 2021; he is deserving of mid -third-round value in 2021, don’t listen to the “don’t take a QB early” haters… that spot is solid for a scorer like Allen. That said, being ok with early QB drafting (early being an example of Allen in the middle of round three), late QB shopping is also an excellent plan if you know how to land QBs late, like my “get Aaron Rodgers in the 9-10 rounds in 2020″ strategy. Russell Wilson will be the early front-runner for value grab QBs, as he will fall to QB7-8 by default in 2021, as the QB pool is extremely deep.
