NEWS: According to multiple reports, Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson has stated that Jalen Hurts will start in Week 16 against the Cowboys.

FANTASY TAKE: I love it when coaches throw full support behind their players, and I scratch my head when coaches like Pederson cannot commit. Whether it’s fear of commitment to Miles Sanders and the running back position (even historically), or to a QB in Hurts that just threw 338 yard and three touchdowns, adding 63 yards and a score on the ground.

Eagles NFL Writer Martin Frank tweeted out this news relating to Peterson’s Week 16 decision, and I commented on the tweet, as seen in the attached image.

This team is loaded with talent and it needs a new commander. If this unit is coached right, and if Miles Sanders, Hurts and Jalen Reagor become the building blocks of the offense, and are not just treated like placeholders, the Eagles could be a top-eight team in this league.

As for Week 16, Hurts is a fine start against the Cowboys. The dual threat has a focused head on his shoulders, too. I think it’s a bit early to call him top 6- to 10-bound in fantasy, but he certainly has that kind of upside heading into his second season in 2021.

His dynasty value comes in right around where things start getting cloudy, which is near 7-12.

Snagged this guy late in 2020 IDP rookie draft (6th round) been telling my circle I think he’ll have the best career out of the 2020 class from day 1! Peterson messed up not going to this winner sooner. Cost Philly the division easliy! Next year he takes the league by storm. Top 5 finish, and in the mvp conversation! 🔥

Yes. Peterson needs to go. PHI can be a monster under the right command. Thanks for the comment, keep the comments coming, I love seeing engagement in the comments of the newswire posts.
