News: Adrian Peterson looks smooth; could he start in 2018?

Smitty’s Take: If you watched Adrian Peterson last night, he was smooth, quick, and he looked the part of a 1,000-yard rusher. Will he stay healthy? That’s the question, and at 33, there is a good chance that he does not. Then again, he has proven people wrong before, and Frank Gore played solid football at 34 last year (and is attempting to again do so at 35 this up and coming season). With Derrius Guice out for the year, Peterson has a real chance at being a surprise in 2018. I think it would be crazy to count on him as your RB2, but as a flex play, he might pull through. At least for a while. I recommend grabbing AP as a bench RB in 2018, and hope he gains some value, for trade or use. It wouldn’t shock me at all if AP had 1,000 yards in 2018. Chris Thompson should remain the third-down runner in that WAS offense in 2018, and Samaje Perine will put up a fight for carries (if/when healthy), but AP feels like the guy to own in this rushing attack in 2018.
