Back in May we took a look at the incoming rookie IDP players. Here is an update prior to the beginning of the season.

Linebackers:

Reuben Foster, San Francisco – will start at WLB, should provide LB2 base.
Jarrad Davis, Detroit, LB – will start at MLB for the Lions, draft him as an LB2.
Alex Anzalone. New Orleans – WLB – will start, his upside is matched by his injury historty.
Kendall Beckwith, Tampa Bay – SLB – starting SLB for the Bucs, could be a three-down linebacker.
Hassan Reddick, Arizona – ILB – role is unclear, still learning a new position.
Zach Cunningham, Houston – ILB – he’ll backup Brian Cushing, but it’s only a matter of time.
Jalen Reeves-Mayben, Detroit – WLB – a backup for now.
Duke Riley, Atlanta – WLB/SLB? – may have beaten out DeVondre Campbell, or play the strong side – watch list.
T.J. Watt, Pittsburgh, OLB- – has been named the starter at OLB.
Raekwon McMillan, Miami – ILB – IR

Myles Garrett, Cleveland – DE – elite potential, a DE2 for fantasy purposes this year.
Solomon Thomas, SF – DE – will start. Competition continues for the Leo (designated pass rusher) position.
Derek Barnett, Philadelphia – DE – The Eagles will rotate four defensive ends, Barnett has looked explosive, a DE4,
Jonathan Allen, Washington – DE – will start, not being used in all the packages.
Taco Charlton, Dallas – DE – will be in a rotation early, may lose snaps when suspended players return.
Takkarist McKinley, Atlanta – DE – early season pass rushing role, will grow as season progresses.
Eddie Yarbrough, Buffalo – DE – will be third DE and see plenty of snaps. Dynasty Watch List, barring injury.
Jordan Willis, Cincinnatti- DE – grab him now, should be starting by mid-season.
Deatrich Wise, New England – DE – will be heavily involved, the DL is thin.
Eddie Vanderdoes, Oakland – DT – Will take snaps at DE as well. Another guy to grab if needed.
Charles Harris, Miami – DE – higher in big-play leagues, a pass-rush specialist at first as he works on tackling.

Jamal Adams, NYJ – S – will start and produce from day one.
Jabrill Peppers, Cleveland – S – has been a swiss army knife for the Browns, has earned a starting role.
Eddie Jackson, Chicago – S – may start, will return kicks and punts.
Marcus Maye, NYJ – S – another leader/playmaker for the Jet defense, he can cover the slot on passing downs.
Malik Hooker, Indianapolis – S – will start at free safety (centerfielder), more valuable in big-play leagues.
Marcus Maye, NYJ – S – appears he will start, has impressed.
Josh Jones, GB – S – also given snaps as an inside linebacker, put him on your watch list.
Buddha Baker, Arizona – S – buried on the depth chart now.
Obi Melifonwu, Oakland – S – IR, a high value dynasty stash.

Marshon Lattimore, New Orleans – CB – sure tackler will start from day one, rookie corner rule.
Adoree Jackson, Tenessee – CB – will start, a weapon in the return game, he can play the slot or outside.
Tre’Davious White, Buffalo – CB – will start, see rookie corner rule (targeted early and often)
Gareon Conley, Oakland – CB – only a matter of time before he starts.
Kevin King, Green Bay – CB – I think he’ll earn a starting role soon, playmaker, may take time.
Adoree Jackson, Tennessee – CB – I expect him to start, and he’ll return some punts.
Teez Tabor, Detroit – CB – could start or be the third corner back.
Sidney Jones, Philadelphia – CB – put on reserve list, same as IR.
