Scoring Mariota’s TD

In case you didn’t see it, Mariota threw a pass that was batted back to him. He then caught the pass and ran it in.

How many points does he get?
6 for a TD catch
4 for a TD pass
10 (6+4) for TD pass and catch

I don’t have the answer, but just wondering in case it happens in a league in which I commish.
How many points?
  1. .20 votes
    1. 6 for a reception
      10.00%
    2. 4 for a pass
        0.00%
    3. 10 (6+4) for a pass & catch
      90.00%

ARGUABLY if it is a PPR league it is 11 plus the yardage

He did throw it, and he did catch it..... both resulted in a touchdown so I would argue he gets the points for both. Then +1 for a reception, if it's a PPR league like Chucky mentioned.

last time that happened our league recorded 10 points, its was about 20 years ago I think and we were blown away that the system got it right.  But if you set up scoring properly to include rush/rec for QB position it will work properly...  we played non PPR back then

    Man... I would be
urinated if I lost a game on such a play... maybe especially if the combined passing and receiving yardage pushed those totals to a winning score.

Didn't Gruden say himself that would be 10 points for those who play fantasy football on national TV?

would be 14 In one of my leagues, 9 for out of position TD, 4 for passing TD, then another 1 for the catch and that doesn't count yardage.

That's a new one on me and not something that I will be implementing in any of my leagues.  :-O :-O :-O

  • Thanks guys - I was thinking along the same lines, but I just wanted to avoid any arguments next season, if it happens.  I guess the main thing is to make sure that the scoring is set properly on MFL.  Once it's set, owners can't argue with it.

yup, I have done all offensive players get the same scoring for everything, passing, rushing, rec, TDs, 2 pt conversions, PPR or not, yardage for pass, rush, rec, distance TDs fif you play that too... cause you never know when a WR will throw it back to a QB for a trick play and wreck a FF league....

Just make all offensive players to the same scoring and its real easy

usually only see it for RBs who catch passes, so its rarely seen...QB rushes have to be > 5 yds to get 9 otherwise its 6
